Dizzy, and with a terrible headache that would not go away, the girl stumbled across loose river rocks, wondering one, where she was, and two, WHO she was. Now, the sun is descending, and the canyon is becoming extremely cold – too cold for her to survive, and she knows it. She knows she is dying, so she finds a patch of soft grass, hoping to die with dignity – even if she is alone. She watches God’s beautiful sky filled with stars, which will be the very last thing she will see, before she succumbs to the next world. While she is waiting, she lists her conclusions:
Suddenly, a monster of a black wolf is standing over her, drooling and licking his chops, and is obviously considering her for his next meal! But, what does she care? She’s dead for sure, right? So, what does someone do when they are beaten, bloody, and dying? Why, it makes perfect sense to talk to the wolf!
“Hi, wolfy! Gee, are you here to help me into the next world? It’s OK. You can eat me.” She saw him cock his head as if he thought she had horns growing out of her butt! She giggled. “I would appreciate it, though, if you could wait until I’m unconscious, so I won’t feel it? But, after all, that’s your decision, isn’t it? I’m just a human, and can’t fight back.”
